Honoring systemic change as an ongoing, iterative process, this is a multi-year professional learning program for SEL school leadership teams. Guided by the CASEL framework and other leaders in the field of SEL, participants will engage in collective learning to: 1) acquire the knowledge, skills, and disposition for successful systemic implementation of SEL, and 2) enhance the social emotional skills in themselves, within their professional learning communities and in students.

- Lead the SEL Planning/Implementation Process
- Enhance Cultural Competence, Collaboration and Community
- Build SEL for Students in Classrooms and Schools
- Evaluate Resources and Systems for Continuous Improvement
Who Should Attend: SEL leadership teams should be representative of different grade levels and subject areas and at least ONE administrator. Potential SEL team members might include: building administrators (principal or assistant principal), general education teachers, special education teachers, elective teachers, related service providers, coaches, interventionists.
Prerequisite: SEL Learners and Leaders Series - Year 1
Satisfactory completion requirements:
- Attendance is based on your signature in and out of the session. Failure to provide a signature in and out will result in no credit.
- Participants are expected to attend the entire series (Parts 1-4) to earn full credit.
- Participants must complete an electronic course evaluation within two weeks of the session date to be sent a certificate.

Cost Information: Participation fees are waived for TrueNorth employees, TrueNorth member district employees, and parents of students in our TrueNorth member districts. For individual participants who do not meet the above criteria, this course participation fee is $1,870.00 for the 4 day series. Participation or material fees will be billed directly to the school district that employs the participant after the session is complete or the first session in a series is complete. Individuals are asked to not bring payment to the session.
Cancellation and Refund Information: There is no cancellation fee, though we ask for advance notice to open the spot for another person. TrueNorth reserves the right to cancel any session due to low enrollment. TrueNorth does not charge prior to the start of the offered session. If an individual attends the first day of a learning series but is unable to attend the remaining sessions, the school district that employs the participant is able to designate an alternate person. It is up to the individual no longer attending the program to give their replacement the information learned in the first session
About the Presenters:
Crystal Oswald serves as a District Service Coach for TrueNorth Educational Cooperative 804 on the north shore. Prior to this role, she was an SEL Curriculum and Instruction specialist for 3 years and a general education teacher for 14 years. In her spare time, she loves to golf, read, and DIY!
