This multi-session training provides participants with a systematic approach to understand behavior and develop comprehensive and function-based interventions through a collaborative data-driven approach. Teams will be able to develop a comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) which includes clearly defined behavior and function-based hypotheses. Teams will also be able to develop a comprehensive Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) with components and strategies linked to the Functional Behavior Assessment and be prepared to engage in a process to monitor the interventions and adjust based on data. Within this training, participants will have opportunities to reflect on current practices and apply the collaborative process to one of their current cases. In addition, sessions include group discussion and work time to meet the learning objectives below.
Outcomes:
- Identify the essential components of a Functional Behavior Assessment
- Identify roles and responsibilities of team members (LBS, Psych, SW, SLP, TAs, Gen Ed) within this team-based process

- Plan for adult responses to escalating behaviors
- Ensure implementation integrity
