In this session, Dr. Kurt Schneider and his superintendent colleagues, Dr. Mike Simeck (Deerfield 109) and Dr. Trisha Kocanda (Winnetka 36) will facilitate reflection on the history of American Schooling for all learners. Research will be provided to analyze how to evolve our classrooms and communities to embrace all students and improve the outcomes for all learners. This session is geared toward administrators, and general education teachers in combination with special education teachers and support staff. If you are a special education teacher or support staff do NOT come alone. This session will only be valuable if your general education partners are in collaboration with you in the learning. This session fulfills Administrative Academy (AA) Credit or ISBE PD hours if you are not in need of the AA Credit. This session will also meet the ethic CEU requirements for Social Workers."
Satisfactory completion requirements:
- Attendance is based on your signature in and out of the session. Failure to provide a signature in and out will result in no credit.
- Participants are expected to attend the entire session to earn credit.
- Participants must complete an electronic course evaluation within two weeks of the session date to be sent a certificate. Individual courses may specify additional requirements for satisfactory completion, please check the course description for additional requirements.

Cost Information: *Administrative Academy Course TrueNorth Member District Fee: NO FEE. Out of District Fee: $150.00
Cancellation and Refund Information: There is no cancellation fee, though we ask for advance notice to open the spot for another person. TrueNorth reserves the right to cancel any session due to low enrollment. TrueNorth does not charge prior to the start of the offered session. If an individual attends the first day of a learning series but is unable to attend the remaining sessions, the school district that employs the participant is able to designate an alternate person. It is up to the individual no longer attending the program to give their replacement the information learned in the first session.
About the Presenters: Dr. Kurt A. Schneider is finishing his sixth year as Superintendent of TrueNorth Educational Cooperative 804, in Highland Park, Illinois. Under his direction, the educational cooperative works in partnership with 18 local school districts to meet the needs of diverse learners through a lens of equity and inclusive schooling practices. Dr. Schneider believes school, family, and community partnerships must together focus on establishing a rigorous core curriculum for all students and aligning human resources, policies, and financial and facility resources at all organizational levels if greater academic, social, and post-school outcomes are to be truly achieved for ALL learners. His work was most recently nationally recognized by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), Superintendents Association, with a co-authored article on School Board Leadership on Inclusive Practices, Equity, and Access for ALL.
